          Mary Greely Medical Center * HVAC Technician in Ames Iowa United States

          Schedule:
          Full Time, Sunday- Thursday 1pm-9:30pm, other shifts as needed

          Job Summary:

          Under general supervision, performs duties related to the overall installation, operation and maintenance of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning equipment as well as building automation and control systems, software and equipment.

          Essential functions:
          •Installs, maintains and repairs heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment including fans, motors, radiators, thermostats, dampers and pneumatic controls.
          •Replaces filters, belts, and fluids as necessary on HVAC system motors and fans.
          •Performs and/or reviews chemical test of chill water loop and tower water and adds chemicals as necessary.
          •Monitors room temperatures, humidity, duct pressures and outside air exchanges daily. Calibrates and/or adjust building automation system and control valves as required.
          •Responsible for the hospitals Indoor Air Quality program.
          •Ensures the proper operation and maintenance of all pumps, motors, valves, and thermostats, gauges and dampers associated with the HVAC system.
          •Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the hospitals control air, medical gas, and vacuum systems.
          Qualifications:

          Required Qualifications:
          •Graduate of HVAC trade school or, 10 years commercial HVAC experience.
          • High school diploma or equivalent
          •Must possess knowledge of building automation and controls systems, airborne disease transmission, air handling system design and installation, pneumatic controls, medical gas and vacuum systems, plumbing and air balancing.
          •Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.

          Preferred:
          •Johnson Controls Building Automation experience

          Required License/Registration:

          •Possession of a current valid driver’s license and must maintain eligibility for coverage under Mary Greeley Medical Center's insurance policy.
          •Operating Engineer’s license as either a Des Moines First Class Fireman or Des Moines Stationary Engineer. Or,
          •Minnesota state First Class Fireman’s or Stationary Engineer
