          Job Details:
          * Job Summary: The RN, Perioperative Services provides direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations, following the nursing process and the recommended practices of AORN. She/he is responsible for the independent practice of nursing according to the rules and regulations defined in the State of Maine Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Standards and the CMMC Standards of Practice and Standards of Care, Polices, and Procedures. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously, and as needed, about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure. Supervises Surgical Technologist, Technical Associate, and any other personnel in the Operating Room. Becomes a Team Service leader when needed and assists with the precepting of new staff members as the need arises. The RN is trained on SIS (Surgical Information Systems) computer program and uses it unless program is not accessible. The RN is expected to select the correct surgical patient for documentation with each new surgical case. Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Maine. Current BCLS certification.Minimum of one (1) year workexperience in the operating room required. Skills: Basic computer knowledge.
