          SUMMARY

          The Nurse Practitioner provides quality health care within the Orthopedic Service Line to all patient age groups.Duties include:Establish and oversee Pre-Op clinics/classes, oversee H & P clinics; complete medical histories, order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays, conduct EKG’s / blood draws, prescribe medications and other therapies, oversee pain medications, monitor and record patient progress, educate patients about their surgery, assist in surgery as needed, inpatient rounding and medication oversight,participate in Practice Call Schedule as assigned, refer patients to physicians and other health care providers as needed, promote wellness practices, and other duties as assigned.

          EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

          Masters Degree in Nursing or Related Area. Certified as a Nurse Practitioner in Orthopedics, Surgery, Primary Care or Family Care. Must have current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
