JOB SUMMARY:
BSN Preferred. The Nurse Coordinator is a Registered Nurse, reporting to Nursing leadership within the Pediatric Specialty Centers and under the direction and supervision of the Attending Physician for the specific specialty or program. The primary role of the nurse coordinator is to ensure seamless coordination of patient care accross the continuum. This includes clinical practice, care coordination, education, quality improvement, with significant latititude for exercising professional judgement. The Nurse Coordinator is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing developmentally approprioate care to patients and families within the specialty service.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Registered Nurse , Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred, Connecticut RN license. At least 2-3 years experience in a pediatric inpatient or outpatient setting, Including experience in the specialty area of the Nurse Coordinator role Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to assert oneself, advocate for patients, and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Computer experience and knowledge of word processing and data entry systems. Must be able to communicate efffectively with all members of the healthcare team, patients and families. Must value and execute "patient -centered model of care."
